Welcome to BlastPrep.com

BlastPrep exists for one purpose: to help you get better results from your abrasive blasting operations—cleaner, safer, more reliable, and more productive.

After 43 years in this field, I’m opening up new ways to help people at every level of the industry: engineers continuously improving processes, owners looking to cut costs, and often, the operators who hold the blast nozzle.

I now offer consulting—onsite when needed, but mostly (and very effectively) by email, text, FaceTime, or phone. Your first interaction is on me. Follow‑up help is available for a reasonable fee. To get started, just click the Contact page. Or simply use this website as your starting guide to better blasting; that part is free.

If you want practical, experience‑based guidance without the sales pressure, you’re in the right place.

How I Can Help

I work with all major blast‑prep systems:

  • Blast cabinets

  • Walk‑in blast rooms

  • Automatic and robotic systems

  • Abrasive reclamation and media optimization

  • Air‑fed respirators and operator safety

  • Industrial air filtration and dust collection

My knowledge extends to newer technologies including dry ice blasting, Armex® bicarb blasting, slurry/wet blasting, micro‑blasting, laser stripping, and shot peening.

Whether you’re troubleshooting and need quick tips, planning an upgrade, comparing technologies, or trying to avoid costly mistakes, I can help you get there faster.

Straight Talk, Real Experience

BlastPrep has always been about honest, practical information—the things people in the field deal with every day, including the issues others don’t always mention. My goal is to help you improve reliability, reduce downtime, and make better decisions with the equipment you already own.

Want to Know My Background?

I’ve spent more than four decades in blasting—from R&D and machine design at Empire Abrasive Equipment Company to over 100,000 hours as Regional Manager for Dawson‑Macdonald, the Northeast’s oldest and most respected blast‑prep distributor.

If you’d like the full story—and how that experience can benefit you—visit the Bio page (which is currently in progress and to be published in the next few months).
